About the Event
The historic and first ever international labour standard to address gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work, the Convention (190) and Recommendation (R206) on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work, has been adopted at the Centenary International Labour Conference last June 2019. This Convention will enter into force June 25, 2021.
For the ILO Convention to be more impactful, more countries need to ratify it. It is in this context that a multi-country strategizing meeting will be held, to be hosted by CARE, ITUC-AP, IWRAW-AP and ActionAid.
Event Objectives
- Learn from the ratification campaigns of countries that have successfully ratified the convention
- Develop and agree on a joint mobilization/awareness-raising plan regionally/globally (i.e. global week of action, petitions, etc)
- Share, develop and agree on joint country strategies / plan of action / coordination mechanisms
This is an invitation-only event.
